Business Briefs: Library Invites Local Businesses to Participate in ...

With the freezing temperatures and
the school year not quite half over, the thought of summer is certainly not at
the forefront of the minds of most teens.?However, those who are hoping
to get jobs in the summer of 2013 should start thinking about it soon.?With that in mind,?Washington-Centerville Public Library is offering both a
Teen Job Skills Workshop and a Teen Job Fair this winter.?The Job Skills Workshop will take place on Saturday, January 26 from 2:00 ? 3:30 PM and registration is required.?The Job Fair will take place the following Saturday, February 2, from 1:00 ? 3:00 PM.? Registration is not required to attend the fair. Both programs will be held at the Centerville Library and are open to those in grades 9 ? 12 only.?
The workshop will highlight job-searching techniques, how to have a successful interview, information on filling out applications, and more.?Human Resources Specialists from local companies will also be there to help teens improve or create resumes and give advice on interviewing.?Upon registration, participants should download the resume template provided in the program description.
Teens are encouraged to use their newfound skills to attend the Teen Job Fair, which will feature representatives from several local businesses and organizations who will be hiring summer help.? They will provide information and applications for employment and may also conduct short interviews.??
